Men's Soccer Claim First Victory of the Season Against Oakwood

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The Fisk Men's Soccer team traveled down to Huntsville, AL, on Wednesday to face the Ambassadors of Oakwood University. The Bulldogs finished with a score of 4-2, claiming the first victory of the season.

The first goal happened quickly on a counterattack in the fifth minute of the first half. Freshman Nurudeen Umar (FR/Nigeria) scored the goal with an assist from Freshman Allen Ashe (FR/Bethesda, Maryland ).
Junior Desmond Nash (JR/Memphis, TN) was a crucial player in the Bulldog win, adding two goals and an assist. Justin Piggs (SO/Jackson, TN. ), a returning sophomore, closed the game with the final goal assisted by Darius Barksdale (FR/Gallatin, TN).
The Bulldogs will be back on the road this weekend to face #12 William Carey in Hattiesburg, MS, on Saturday, October 15th, at 2:00 p.m.
