Sensational Seven Prepare to Compete in the National Championships
SHREVEPORT, La. (April 10, 2025) – Seven members of the Fisk University Gymnastics Team are in Shreveport, Louisiana preparing for the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships this weekend hosted by Centenary College. The competition begins on Friday with two sessions starting at 2 p.m. CST.
The team has enjoyed a sensational season, with 11 wins, including six victories in a row, and four wins in meets outright. In Session 1, junior Liberty Mora will be making her third appearance at Nationals. Mora will be competing on the Balance Beam, and on the Floor Exercise. Classmate Allie Berkley (Balance Beam and Vault) and sophomore Ciniah Rosby (All Around) will join Mora in the first session.
Junior Morgan Price will attempt to defend her All Around national championship in the second session. She will be joined in the session by classmate Aliyah Reed-Hammon (Balance Beam and Vault), and seniors Kaylei McDonald and Jada Reese will be finishing their Bulldog career. McDonald on the Balance Beam and Reese on the Floor Exercise.
"The ladies have worked extremely hard, and I am very proud of them," said Interim Head Coach Nuriya Mack. "It has been an emotional season, and I know that are battle-tested. I can't wait to see them perform on this stage. We are ready."
The prestigious event, formerly named the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships, will feature an afternoon and evening session on Friday, an evening session on Saturday for team finals, and then one session on Sunday afternoon which is the individual event finals.
The "Sensational Seven" will be joined by fellow HBCU gymnast Diamond Cook of Wilberforce University, who will be competing on the Floor Exercise. They eight are competing individually against the host Centenary, the University of Alaska, the University of Bridgeport, Greenville University, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), Southern Connecticut State University, Texas Woman's University, and West Chester University.
