ATHENS, Ga. - The Fisk University Bulldogs gymnastics team has faced a season of both challenges and growth. Most recently, a severe winter storm swept across the region, forcing the cancellation of their scheduled competition against William & Mary. The team responded with resilience, using the unexpected break to refocus and prepare for upcoming meets.
In their previous meet at Kent State, the Bulldogs delivered a season-best performance, showcasing improved execution and confidence across all events. This momentum has set a positive tone as the squad heads into a highly anticipated quad meet in Athens, Georgia, where they will compete against the University of Georgia, Temple University, and Central Michigan University.
Quad Meet Preview and Lineup Outlook
This Friday in Athens, the Bulldogs will rotate through four events as follows:
- Floor Exercise: The Bulldogs will return with the same floor lineup that sparked momentum in their previous meet. Senior Jordynn Cromartie leads off after a career-best performance at Kent State, followed by senior captain Liberty Mora, who brings experience and composure. Senior Aliyah Reed-Hammon and freshman Makia Rosado anchor the middle of the lineup with power and consistency, while junior Ciniah Rosby and senior Zyia Coleman close the rotation, providing energy and veteran presence.
- Vault: Vault will feature both continuity and a key return. Zyia Coleman moves back into the lead-off position, setting the tone early. Hadassah Diggs, Rosby, and Rosado follow as the lineup continues to build. Fisk will look to Reed-Hammon to provide stability late in the rotation before senior Allie Berkley returns to the anchor position after time away due to an early-season injury.
- Uneven Bars: The Bulldogs will maintain the same bar lineup while continuing to look for consistency and cleaner execution. Freshmen Kennedi Johnson and Diggs will lead off, followed by Rosado and sophomore Aiyana Thomas in the middle of the lineup. Coleman and Rosby round out the rotation as Fisk looks to build on the progress shown at Kent State.
- Balance Beam: Fisk will close the competition on balance beam with slight adjustments to provide both rest and opportunity. Mora leads off, followed by Johnson and Cromartie, both making their beam lineup season debuts. Diggs, Rosby, and Reed-Hammon complete the rotation.
