Gymdogs Head to the Nation's Capital for GWU Quad Meet

WASHNGTON, D.C. - As the busy season progresses, the Fisk University Bulldogs are making their way to Washington, D.C. to compete this Sunday, February 22nd. The Bulldogs had another week full of practice to ensure improvements in multiple athletes on multiple events.
This weekend's competition will take place at George Washington University where the Bulldogs will compete in a quad meet against the Eastern Michigan University Eagles, the Towson State University Tigers, and the host George Washington University Revolutionaries. Live scoring can be found in Virtius. The competition begins at 1:00 PM EST.
Lineup Outlook
With the season in full swing, some lineups will be shaken up a bit to see what works best for the team as a whole. The Bulldogs are ready and excited to improve.
Balance Beam
Veterans will look to set the top on the Balance Beam. Senior Aliyah Reed-Hammon is slated to set the tone of confidence on beam for the Bulldogs this weekend. Followed by junior Sophia Pratt, senior Allie Berkley, and junior Ciniah Rosby holding it down in the middle of the lineup with poise and excellence. The freshmen combination of Hadassah Diggs and Kennedi Johnson will wrap up the rotation with high energy and proficient
landings.
Floor Exercise
Floor has been an area of consistent growth amongst the Fisk athletes. Berkley is up first to lead the team with a powerful and confident routine. Reed-Hammon and Rosby are to keep that momentum going in the middle of the lineup. Johnson and senior Zyia Coleman are set to end the rotation with beautiful displays of skill and power.
Vault
With vault being such a strong event for the Bulldogs this season, they plan to fight for every last tenth they can. Johnson will lead off the vault rotation. Coleman, Diggs, and Reed-Hammon are set to build upon each score before them. Berkley will finish the event for the Bulldogs. This event should prove to be a powerhouse for the team.
Uneven Bars
With the intention to make tremendous bounds in the right direction, the Bulldogs are hoping the long practice hours shine through on bars. Sophomore Aiyana Thomas will start off with her ever-growing consistency and strength. Coleman, Rosby, and Johnson will maintain that energy while hitting every handstand. Pratt and Diggs will be rounding out the rotation with excellent showmanship and lines.
