Volleyball Takes on Conference Foe Rust
Lady Bulldogs Aim to Extend Winning Streak in HBCUAC Showdown
NASHVILLE (September 18, 2025) – On Friday, Fisk Volleyball will conclude their four-game homestand with an HBCUAC matchup against Rust College (0-10, 0-1 HBCUAC) on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs, now boasting a 12-5 overall record and 2-0 in conference play, have won nine of their last eleven matches, including seven straight-set victories. Senior libero Nialah Gupton, junior hitters Shelby Chamblin and Reagan Jones, and setters Kaia Barnett and Nebteth Re have been instrumental in the team's recent success.
The Lady Bulldogs' balanced attack is further strengthened by contributions from La'Niyah Lumpkins, Laila Esters, and middle hitter Delaney Farver. Fisk's front wall will face a tough test against Rust's 6'4" senior Musha Alhassan, who led the conference in blocks last season.
Looking to maintain their winning momentum, the Lady Bulldogs will need to sustain their disciplined play and capitalize on their depth as they prepare for the upcoming showdown. With the team's recent streak fueled by strong individual performances and collective determination, Fisk will aim to reinforce their standing atop the HBCUAC.
As the season progresses, maintaining focus and executing their game plan against a Rust College squad eager for its first victory will be crucial in keeping their streak alive and building on the positive energy generated by their recent success.
